Summer is a state of mind

We've had pretty abysmal weather so far this Summer. A few weeks ago we decided - along with Ben from Stag Creative Barbers who is just around the corner from us at The Custard Factory - to have a Summer party regardless of what the weather was doing. We thought that the lack of sun shouldn't mean a lack of summertime good vibes, so we asked our friends at The Old Crown if they'd host us for an evening. They host us most evenings, but we wanted to make some flyers and bring a sound system, so it was only polite to ask. It's looking like our positive mental attitude has been rewarded; for the last couple of days the sun has been beaming over Birmingham. With predicted highs of 27°C tomorrow (that's crazy hot by UK standards for our international readers), it's shaping up to be a great evening of music, food and booze. DJ Neeko, a true reggae selector who has played parties from Germany to Jamaica will be on the decks all night, and the fantastic Greenhouse will be supplying barbecued jerk chicken to soak up the EPA.

There will be opportunities throughout the night to win a free haircut from Stag, and there will be a few PROVIDE giveaways too. After the pub closes, we'd recommend heading over to Moschino Hoe, Versace Hottie for their party at Spotlight (just behind The Old Crown). It's the go-to party in Digbeth every first Saturday of the month, and this month it's an all out celebration of West Coast hip hop.
